STAR Recognition Celebrates Behavior, Confidence, and Belonging
Two Pray-Woodman students were honored through the STAR Awards for meaningful growth. One was recognized for making better choices and becoming a more positive member of the classroom and peer community. The other was celebrated for building confidence and friendships. Support from teachers and administrators helped both students feel proud, encouraged, and ready for their transition beyond elementary school.

A Student Builds Safety, Coping Skills, and Connection
A student began the year experiencing serious mental-health concerns, self-harm behavior, and difficulty building friendships. Pando met with him four times each week and collaborated with school staff, community providers, and family members on calming strategies, social-emotional tools, behavior support, and healthy coping skills. Over time, he became more confident using those strategies, improved peer relationships, and built stronger connections with trusted adults.

A student entered first grade needing daily one-on-one behavioral support. She now enters the Pando classroom independently, helps others, and has become a positive leader.

Student Learns Boundaries and Emotional Self-Advocacy
A student worked with Pando on understanding boundaries, using safe hands and words, following directions, and choosing alternatives to inappropriate contact. He now approaches the Pando SSA to ask questions and seek help understanding or regulating his emotions.
