If you are enrolled at a college in the Wichita area, there is very likely a free food pantry on your campus.
Wichita State University: the Kiah Duggins Shocker Support Locker. Founded by Student Government in 2015 and open since February 2016, it provides food, clothing, toiletries, and baby and family products at no cost. Students, faculty, and staff are all welcome. You may take up to ten credits’ worth of items per week. Access runs through an online application before your first visit. Alongside food it stocks fresh produce, hygiene and laundry products, school supplies, and baby products. Details at wichita.edu/shockersupportlocker.
WSU Tech Food Pantry. Free and discrete for currently enrolled WSU Tech students. Use it once every two weeks, up to 25 items per visit. Available at NCAT (4004 N. Webb Road), WSU Tech South (3821 E. Harry), and City Center (301 S. Grove). To access it, contact a Student Success Coach.
Other area campuses. Butler, Cowley, Hutchinson, Newman, and Friends have all operated student support or pantry programs. Because these are usually run by student government or student affairs rather than a central office, the fastest way to find yours is to ask a student success coach, advisor, or the dean of students directly.
If your campus pantry is closed or you need more, Kansas Food Bank maintains a mobile pantry schedule and 211 Kansas routes you to the nearest option by ZIP code.
