Pando News – November 2023

In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, we thank you for your generosity and the kindness you’ve shown to PandoKids.

As our work continues, the demand for services continues to grow. This year, Pando is serving 25% more schools and more students. Pando has a dedicated staff member in 27 partner schools that work directly with students to address academic and non-academic obstacles. This growth is essential if we hope to realize our vision for the future where every student graduates, ready for their next stage in life.

Our growth is only possible with your support. Thanks to an anonymous donor, all donations given to Pando between November 28 and December 5 will be generously matched. Every gift, no matter the amount, will help Pando increase capacity to meet the growing need and help guide students toward academic and personal success.

REWARD STUDENTS FOR MEETING GOALS & HELP PROVIDE BASIC NEEDS

The Pando Incentive program was developed to empower and encourage students to reach their greatest potential for academic achievement, behavioral control, and personal growth by positively reinforcing their efforts to reach their goals. Students set goals, discuss incentives, and then work towards meeting those goals. Once goals are met, students receive the incentive.

Pando also supplies basic needs to students and families. These essential items can include deodorant, hair care, clothing and outerwear, other hygiene items, and more. These items are distributed to students and families in need throughout the year.

Visit our wish lists below to see what items you can donate. Gift cards are also a great way to support the drive.

To donate gift cards or other items not purchased through the wish lists, please contact Daniel at dmorford@pandokids.org
We are honored and excited to announce that we have been chosen to participate in a special charitable giving campaign, sponsored and funded by Target. And you have the chance to help direct a portion of Target’s donation to us!
Now through December 31st, vote for us through the Target Circle program to help determine how Target’s donation will be divvied up. Find out more about Target Circle here: www.target.com/circle

We’re asking our supporters to help us make the most of this incredible opportunity. Every vote counts to help us receive a portion of the available Target funds as we continue our mission to help students thrive.

Don’t forget, as you earn more votes, you can keep voting multiple times during the campaign! Thank you for your support, and we encourage you to share your support for us on social media throughout the duration of the voting!

Volunteer with Reality U™

As local schools gear up to have Reality U™ visit their students, we are looking for volunteers to help facilitate the event. This 75 minute financial literacy simulation for middle and high school students allows them to imagine their life as a 26 year old. Students travel to 12 volunteer staffed booths to experience monthly expenses and financial decisions. Volunteering at Reality U™ is fun, flexible, and takes no special skills!

Check out our upcoming local Reality U™ event dates:  (dates subject to change, advance notice will be given)

Brooks Middle – Dec. 14

Hamilton Middle – Jan. 12

Curtis Middle – Jan. 26
