Getting Sorted for Prom Season

Students in the Wichita area are gearing up for another exciting prom season. Here at The Pando Initiative, we believe that every student deserves to feel confident and stylish on their big night, regardless of financial constraints. That’s why we’ve been hard at work ensuring that students have access to formal wear to help ease the financial strain of Prom. With generous support and donations, we were able to sort through thousands of suits and dresses to stock the clothing closets at the three high schools we serve. But the impact doesn’t end there. Staff from other local high schools and organizations were invited to stop by to pick up items that their students may need.

A special shoutout goes to the Junior League of Wichita, whose volunteers graciously offered their time and expertise to help sort through the donated items. Their unwavering dedication to serving the community played a vital role in preparing to restock the Pando clothing closets, and distributing items to other local high schools and organizations.

What sets this initiative apart is the commitment to providing clothing resources in a manner that is free and anonymous. Our clothing closet isn’t just for prom wear; it offers a wide range of options, from casual attire to formal ensembles. This guarantees that every student can find something that suits their style and personality, without the added pressure of financial burden or stigma.

Prom night is a milestone moment for many students, and thanks to Pando’s clothing closets and support from the community, more young people can focus on creating unforgettable memories rather than worrying about what to wear.

Thank you to each and every one of you who have contributed and donated to this initiative. Your support has made a meaningful difference in the lives of students across our community. Together, we’re building a brighter future for our youth, one prom dress and suit at a time.
